[JANUARY 2008] Infocom Technologies Incorporated, a subsidiary of ePLDT, recently signed an agreement with pioneer broadcast institution Manila Broadcasting Company, Inc. (MBC) for the latter to provide programming for Infocom's interactive cable television channel CubeiTV.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Infocom and MBC will allow CubeiTV, which airs on channel 67 for SkyCable and Home Cable subscribers, to air TV broadcasts of the morning radio shows of DZRH-AM straight from the DZRH radio studios in Pasay City. DZRH-AM (666 kHz Metro Manila) is operated and owned by the Manila Broadcasting Company, and is considered as one of the top AM stations in Metro Manila.

Aside from airing the DZRH radio shows on TV, CubeiTV also will provide the technology that will allow viewers and listeners to interact via short messaging system (SMS). Insights on topics discussed during DZRH shows can be sent through text and will be displayed onscreen through CubeiTV 's interactive chatroom.

Live airing of DZRH programs in CubeiTV will be available daily from 4:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m." We chose to air the morning shows of DZRH since morning is considered as "primetime for AM radio," says Infocom President Edgardo R. Bautista.

Other DZRH radio shows will also be available daily on CubeiTV, such as the 12noon to 12:15 p.m. newsbreak and the 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. evening news

The tie-up will also allow DZRH to flash breaking news any time of the day through scripts that will scroll on the bottom of CubeiTV's screen.

"Through the partnership between Infocom and MBC, CubeiTV will become more informative, innovative, and interactive," s ays Alejandro Cruz, Business Unit Head, Consumer Business Group.

Airing of DZRH programs is just the beginning. "CubeiTV will feature more new programs early 2008," adds Cruz.

Infocom Technologies Incorporated is a pioneer in the Philippine ISP industry. For more than 10 years, it has made its mark as a leader in the industry through its expertise, network reliability, and its innovation. Through the years, however, it has constantly pursued a desire to change itself to better serve its valued clients, and expand to new markets.";We are expanding our services to include IP technology-based services like Internet access solutions, VoIP and IP exchange services, domestic customer services outsourcing, mobile commerce, and Interactive TV," says Bautista

The Cube Interactive business unit provides web development, iTV services, and MS content and application development. Cube iTV showcases the unit's capacity to harness technology in such a way that what used to be an entertainment medium has also become a channel for interaction via SMS or MMS

Manila Broadcasting Company, Inc. holds the distinction of being the pioneer broadcast institution in the Philippines and the largest broadcast network in the Philippines and Asia, with over 500 radio stations throughout the Philippines. Aside from DZRH, other MBC networks include Aksyon Radyo, Love Radio, Yes-FM, Hot-FM, and Radyo Natin.
